Avoiding sitting too much on the sofa watching T.V. The more activity, the better. Playing old-fashioned outdoor games is a great way to interact with your loved ones, even something simple like taking a walk.
Keep tabs on how much you are drinking and intersperse alcohol drinks with soft ones. Over the holiday period alcohol units can really mount up without noticing, stay fresh and feeling great!
Recent research suggests that we consume 3000 calories in our Christmas meal. Instead of over-eating, dish yourself a normal sized plate of food to see if you are still hungry. It normally takes a while for your brain to process what your stomach is feeling.
Traveling in the holiday period can sometimes cause you to have a cold , minimise your risk by maintaining a healthy immune system (eat healthy and not smoking will help). So you are more able to fight off any viruses.
Over the holiday period we tend to stress about overspending, cooking, cleaning, entertaining visitors and the list goes on! Try to keep a sense of humour and keep up the happy holiday spirit!
Wishing all our clients an absolutely fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year with your loved ones.
